In February 2021, a meeting was held at the University of Magdalena with directors of the public and private sectors of the city of Santa Marta, Colombia. In order to consolidate joint work and review common paths to continue generating projects in favor of the territory, Doctor Pablo Vera Salazar, Rector of the University of Magdalena, in the company of his management team, met with local and regional entities. Within his agenda, the Rector presented the new Master’s Program in Sustainable Tourism Management, developed as part of the STOREM Project. The Rector highlighted the program’s innovative nature, the need for this program in the region and the invitation to join as strategic allies in its development. Among those present were: Alfonso Lastra, President of the Santa Marta Chamber of Commerce; Beatriz Martha Dávila, Director of Invest in Santa Marta; Camilo George, Director of Santa Marta Vital; and Javier Quintero, Manager of Camacol Magdalena.
