The University of Cagliari (UNICA) is a public state Higher Education Institute in Sardinia, Italy. Its Department of Economic and Business offers a Bachelor program in Economics and Management of Tourist Services, and Master’s degrees in Sustainable Tourism Management and Monitoring as well as International Hotel Management. UNICA’s Centre of North-South Economical Research (CRENOS) is one of the founders of the International Association for Tourism Economics. Hortus Botanicus Karalitanus (HBK) is a Centre of UNICA; its research topics include biodiversity and both in-situ and ex-situ conservation studies. Ex-situ conservation in its various aspects is carried out in the Sardinian Germplasm Bank (BG-SAR). HBK promotes and coordinates research and teaching in the fields of life and environmental sciences. In STOREM, UNICA contributes its knowledge and experience to the design of new Master’s programs, courses and learning material developed by the project, and also implements capacity building activities as part of the Development Work Package. As the project’s lead institution, UNICA coordinates the overall project and runs the Management Work Package.
