Within the framework of the project “Sustainable Tourism, Optimum Resources and Environment Management (STOREM), the two Costa Rican institutions participating in this initiative met in San José, to define an agenda for a capacity building visit which to be held in Costa Rica, between April 15 and 22, 2020.
This project seeks to update and create new master’s programs in the areas of sustainable tourism and natural resources management in universities in Costa Rica, Colombia and Barbados, as well as the development of an observatory on sustainable tourism, and to integrate vulnerable groups, on those efforts, especially displaced people.
Laura Obando, Alfonso Lara and Esteban Barboza from the National University of Costa Rica (Chorotega campus) participated in the meeting, as well as Allan Valverde from the University for International Cooperation. The objectives for the capacity building activity were defined, as well as the sites that will be visited for the consortium.
